Stars History
Founded in 1992 as the Parkhill Stars playing in the OHA Junior Development League (Jr D) After just one season, the team’s name was changed to the North Middlesex Stars. The early years were rough on the Stars, with winning seasons in only 2 of 13 years. In 2006 the JDL dissolved, and the new Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League was formed. Over the next 5 years, the Stars flourished, recording 4 consecutive top 5 finishes culminating with a SOJHL Championship in the 2008/9 season. Another tough stretch followed, and the team would finish the last 3 straight years winning only 9 of 120 regular-season games. The landscape changed again in 2016 with the forming of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (Jr C) which now features teams 63 teams across Ontario. The Stars have since been a perennial contender in the Yeck Conference, posting a .738 winning percentage since the pandemic and winning the Yeck division in 21/22 before losing to the eventual Provincial Champion Lakeshore Canadians in the conference finals.
